Crystal Smith - Office Manager
Crystal Smith has been in the dental industry for over 20 years. A dental technician, ceramist by trade, graduated from NSIT in 1998 with her Diploma in Dental Technology. She has been enjoying working as an Office Manager for the last 3 years. Crystal enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys her down time reading, quilting and walking, as well as time at the beach.

Velvet Cook - Office Administrator
Velvet graduated in 2012 from the Medical Office Administration program at Herzing College in Ottawa.After graduation she worked at a physiotherapy clinic in Ottawa. Since returning to her hometown of Amherst NS, in 2014, Velvet has been with Amherst Family Dental Clinic. She enjoys helping Amherst and area residents smile brightly. In her spare time Velvet enjoys getting outdoors to enjoy nature, as well as swimming, painting and reading.

Sonya Bishop RDH
Sonya attained her Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry in 2003, is certified by the National Dental Hygiene Examining Board of Canada; registered with the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the College of Dental Hygienists of Nova Scotia (CDHNS). Sonya joined the team at Amherst Family Dental Clinic after returning to her hometown of Amherst from Calgary in 2008. She is the chair of the local Dental Hygiene Study Club and a member of the Continuing Competency Committee for the CDHNS.

Stephanie Simpson RDH
Stephanie graduated from Oulton College in 2010 with a diploma in dental hygiene. Initially She gained experience by doing fill in work at a variety of different dental offices before joining the Amherst Dental Clinic in April of 2011. She is licensed by the College of Dental Hygienists of Nova Scotia and is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association. She strives to provide comfortable and competent care to all of her patients young and old. Stephanie has been loving her new role as a mom to her baby boy born August 2016. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as hiking and exploring the great outdoors.

Adrianna England RDH
Adrianna graduated from Dalhousie University in 2004 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. She has worked in Moncton, NB and Calgary, AB. A local family girl from South Athol, she moved home from Calgary in October 2016. She enjoys meeting each patient individually to provide gentle dental care. She is certified in Local Anesthesia and Periodontal Laser and has a special interest in periodontal treatment. Her hobbies include spending time with her friends and family, travelling, reading, and going to the beach.

Melanie Morey RDA
Melanie graduated from Holland College PEI in 2002 as a Level II Dental Assistant and completed her National Board Exam that same year. While working in Edmonton, Melanie completed training at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Provisional Restoration and Gingival Retraction Cord Placement and also in Zoom and Invisalign. In 2012, Melanie returned home to work at Amherst Family Dental Clinic where she continues to work today. She is registered with the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia (PDBNS) and Nova Scotia Dental Assisting Association (NSDAA).

Rebecca Smith RDA
Rebecca graduated from the Dental Assistant Level II course at Holland College in PEI in January of 2013 and began her career immediately at Amherst Family Dental Clinic. She is registered with the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia (PDBNS) and Nova Scotia Dental Assisting Association (NSDAA). She has training from the TRIMAC dental clinic in proper handling/assisting with implant procedures. She enjoys horseback riding competitively and showing beef cattle. She also enjoys working on the family farm and volunteering with the local 4H clubs.
